You may be aware that ATI has been, since our inception, a separately incorporated but wholly controlled affiliate of SCRA.

ATI is incorporated in the State of South Carolina as a private 501c3. Prior to 2011, ATI was the Advanced Technology Institute.

In recent years, SCRA’s other businesses (technology startup, venture capital, and research parks/Innovation Centers) have grown to the point that encounters with repeat clients and partners across our functional units are increasing.

Reports of confusion between SCRA and ATI have grown at the same time that other “ATIs” who are in our market place have become more significant. 

To help us better understand client and partner perspectives on the clarity of who we are and what we do, we will now refer to ourselves as SCRA Applied R&D.
